Leslie Pickering
Leslie Pickering is an engineer with twenty seven years of international process improvement experience in the packaging industry. He co-leads the P2 team to teach organizations to eliminate process and people constraints for sustained profitability.
With a degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering Les has held responsibility for maintenance, supervision, training, and installation of machines that consistently out perform the competition two to five fold. Les has gathered best practices from Europe, Asia, Australia, and now America to build Lean solutions for the paper, glass, and plastic industries.
Prior to the founding of P2, Les was a VP Technology for a Lean leader in the packaging industry.
Scott Ellis, EdD
As Founding Partner of P-Squared (P2 ), Dr. Scott Ellis facilitates individual and organizational growth. He co-leads the P2 team to teach organizations to eliminate process and people constraints for sustained profitability.
With advanced degrees in Counseling and Educational Psychology, and more than 16 years in the packaging industry, Scott is fully equipped to address the needs of the people side of the business. Scott's practical approach ensures that P2 is not a soft skills company. He serves as a designer of systems and training, a coach, and a mechanics helper as needed. Scott is emphatic in his focuses on the bottom line - to make the production of goods and services more profitable, by fixing the people systems that support it.
Dr. Ellis provides leaders with Executive Coaching to help them manage change and even develop their skills for an accelerated lean transformation.
Prior to founding P2, Scott was the director of training and development for a lean leader in the packaging industry. For nearly 26 years he has been a catalyst for individual and organizational growth and change.
David Levy
Dave Levy has 30 years of experience in the paperboard packaging industry. His area of expertise includes all facets of plant operations, customer service, administration, organization development, and sales and marketing. He was Vice President and Division General Manager of Union Camp's Container Division and more recent Chief Operating Officer for Interstate Resources, Inc. His responsibilities have included leadership of converting facilities, paper mills, and product development.
For the last 20 years Mr. Levy has been extensively involved in team-based continuous improvement efforts that well relate to Lean strategies and implementation. He has been involved with and provided leadership in areas such as Quality Function Deployment and Value Analysis.
Mr. Levy received his Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. He has served on boards for industry associations as well as privately held companies.
Scott Heilmann
Scott's industry experience began with Pacific Southwest Container, Modesto, California in plant operations. He spent three years working as a Project Engineer and later as a Production Supervisor. He joined P-Squared in 2002 where he has worked with packaging industry clients implementing Lean Manufacturing on the production floor. He is particularly skilled in the areas of training, leading Kaizen teams, standardizing operating procedures, and Value Stream Mapping.
Mr. Heilmann earned a BS in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic Institute and has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of the Pacific.
Victor Pinto
Victor has fourteen years of experience in the packaging industry with expertise in corrugated and folding carton converting facilities. He was worked for domestic and European-based equipment manufacturers in field engineering, research and development, design, marketing, and sales. Mr. Pinto has also been involved in private consulting where he trained plant personnel to improve in production and maintenance areas, and analyze existing processes and practices to streamline operations. Joining P-Squared in 2005, Victor brings a unique blend of manufacturing experience as well as multi-lingual skills to complement its existing resources.
Mr. Pinto is a graduate of Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas with both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is also a regional Board Member for the Technical Association, Pulp and Paper Institute.
